Dr Peter Hopkins founded North St Ives Medical Practice in 1982 and has lived in the St. Ives area for over 50 years. He graduated from the University of New South Wales  in 1979  and holds a Diploma in Obstetrics and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1987. Dr Hopkins has a broad interests and expertise in primary health care with a strong focus on:

• Family medicine

• Management of chronic disease

• Aged care.

DR ELIZABETH JOHNSON

BMedSc MBBS FRACGP DCH

Dr Johnson has been serving the St Ives community for almost a decade as a GP. She brings a practice style of the highest standard and expertise across all areas of general medicine. Dr Johnson is a dual graduate from the University of Sydney with degrees in medical science and medicine as well as a Diploma in Child Health. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2009. She enjoys developing long term relationships with her patients and their families to ensure the best health outcomes, with special interests in:

• Paediatrics

• Women’s health

• Preventative health’

• Mental health

• Chronic disease management

DR MICHAEL BONNING

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Michael Bonning is an experienced general practitioner who has worked in Australia, Great Britain and the United States. He received his medical degree from the University of Queensland and subsequently practiced in Sydney where he completed his Fellowship in General Practice while also deploying as a medical officer in the Royal Australian Navy. 

Michael has special interests in the following areas:

• Musculoskeletal and sports medicine

• Adolescent medicine

• Paediatrics

• Travel medicine

• Goal setting and peak performance

• Healthcare of professionals and doctors

Michael loves the outdoors and when not at work he is often involved in group hikes around Sydney and has worked as a doctor helping teams climb the highest mountains on four continents.

DR SUE-ELLEN HODGEKISS

MBBS (HONS)

Dr SueEllen Hodgekiss graduated with Honours from the University of NSW in 1981 and joined North St Ives Medical Practice in 1998. Sue-Ellen has lived in St. Ives for many years, she has extensive experience in General Practice across all domains with particular interests in: 

• Antenatal Care

• Palliative Care

• General medicine

• Management of complex and chronic diseases
